Jointing Laminate Worktops - Milano:
It is important that when jointing laminate worktops at corners or in any application where the core MDF is exposed that correct sealant/ glue is used:
For our 19mm square edge laminate work-surfaces we have provided spealists colour coordinated sealants that have been specially developed for them. We strongly recommend these be used to obtain the best results and validate any product warranty. When applying this adhesive (after fully machining and producing the bolt connector slots), use the applicator supplied and run a precise bead of adhesive continuously across the top edge first, then again to the front vertical edge and finish with running another to the bottom edge. Connect the two pieces and tighten the joining bolts while ensuring the top surface is perfectly flush. A correctly bonded joint MUST show clear and constant signs of adhesive along the top face and front edge of the worktop. Remove excess adhesive from the top face and front edge of worktop. Further tighten the bolts if possible and repeat the scraping and cleaning process, always ensuring a constant line of adhesive is seen being 'squeezed' from the joint. When completed, the joint should be 'near invisible', should not show any signs of glue and should be perfectly flush along its whole length.
